Landscaping stone can be taken from a common stone that is used generally for indoor or outdoor decorating and landscaping. The textures, colors, shapes and sizes of the stone are things to distinguish the landscaping stone. These items come also to the many different landscaping stone varieties. Companies specializing in landscaping, while some are also available through gardening stores, sell many of these varieties of stones. There are natural stones and also man made stones for landscaping.

Sandstone may also be used as a landscaping stone. This type of landscaping stone is usually used to make low walls or even higher walls in the garden or outdoors. It comes in a beautiful variety of colors to suit homeowners such as brown, buff, pink, black, blue and yellow. These have a great rough texture that looks very natural.

Granite is very durable and strong and is commonly used for paving and walls. It lasts long and comes in a variety of colors and combinations. Whole mountains of granite have been quarried due to the popularity of this stone.

The other landscaping stone may also be loose stones such as those found in riverbeds and riverbanks. These types of landscaping stones are solid stones that are quarried to create a natural look in your garden or home. Walls, perimeter walls and other rock formations can be made from these stones. Some flat stones are also made as flagstones or other landscaping needs.
